"I have just been so impressed with
KIDSCO®... you guys are complete stars! I do "big guilt"
about not being with the littlies at holiday time but I truly
believe if they can't be at home you guys are really the most
special place they could be! THANK YOU! "
As the founder of
KIDSCO® I am animated, enthusiastic and
completely immersed in the subject of how primary school children
spend their time after school. Up to three (3) hours each
day, roughly equivalent to one half of a school day; this is a
fairly significant amount of time in a care programme. I've
pondered how this time could be best used to ensure that children
achieve a positive and enduring experience. It is largely
social time: up to 15 hours of your children's social time is spent
in programmes if you work full-time. That's plenty of motivation
for me to ensure that my team and I remain innovative in creating a
programme that children would absolutely love to belong to, and
that would provide parents with significant value. I've
enjoyed the journey so far and look forward to continuing as we
open more programmes.
My initial career of 20 years was Midwifery, followed by 15 years
developing a successful small business with a sales and marketing
network throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific. Working
with people satisfies an inner passion and developing a business
where I am able to serve children and parents enables me to
contribute the most value. A mother raising a wonderfully
inspirational son, I have completed the OSCAR Certificate and
developed the model for KIDSCO®.
My primary school-aged son, Sam, created the initial impetus for
developing the KIDSCO® concept along with the
encouragement of a number of local families. Wellington, NZ is our
home although we consider ourselves global citizens with a great
passion for travel, exploring and enjoying new experiences that
other cultures provide.
